Last Saturday my partner and I were invited to a combined 70th Birthday and Day of the Dead party.
The birthday boy’s partner is Mexican so it was a perfect opportunity to combine these two exciting events. Oh what a fabulous night it turned out to be enhanced by a live mariachi band, Mexican dancers, fabulous costumes, salsa and merengue dancing (with lessons), a Bohemian Rhapsody sing-off and delicious food. The energy was simply electric!
During the midst of all the fun and frivolity, in the middle of the very crowded dance floor, the birthday boy got down on one knee and proposed to his very surprised, long standing partner. She said yes, a beautiful solitaire diamond ring was placed on her finger, the room erupted, hugs and kisses were exchanged, a quick glass of fizz was enjoyed by the betrothed couple then importantly, the dancing continued!
This unforgettable proposal marked the beginning of a new chapter in the couple’s lives and it reminded me that love, at any age, has the power to make the simplest of occasions extraordinary.
I can only but imagine that their nuptials will involve and I for one, cannot wait!
