WEDDING CELEBRANT

Questions you may have
Is a Celebrant-Led marriage legal?
Sadly I am not able to perform the legal part of your marriage however, this can be carried out either before or after your wedding ceremony, or not at all, it’s your personal choice. If you do choose the legalise your marriage, a simple 2+2 ceremony, which basically involves attendance by yourselves and two witnesses along with the licensed registrar can be performed at your local registry office; this is the most cost efficient option. There is no time restriction as to when this should be carried out but most couples prefer to get the ‘legals’ out of the way before their wedding day so they can be at ease and enjoy the big day. Births and deaths are not registered on the day they occur therefore you don’t have to register your marriage on the same day as your wedding.
Can we write our own vows?
Absolutely! In fact, I encourage it. This part of the ceremony is, I feel, very personal to you both. However should you need help, I’m more than happy to assist. If you prefer, I will write your vows with your guidance and if necessary, I will read them out at the ceremony.

What is the cost of a ceremony?
My fee is £450 per ceremony plus travelling costs. Should an overnight stay be necessary, I would charge you for reasonable accommodation. This fee covers all types of ceremonies as previously listed. For travel further afield, other associated fees and expenses may apply and can be discussed on an individual basis. A 50% non-refundable deposit will be due on signing of the Contract of Agreement for your ceremony. Once I have received your deposit, I will keep the date of your ceremony solely for you.
What happens after we sign the Contract of Agreement?
A copy of your Contract will be sent to you along with a receipt of your deposit. I will also send you various forms to sign along with questionnaires for you both. I will liaise with you on an on-going basis but ask that you return your completed questionnaires at least 8 weeks prior to your ceremony. Once my first draft is complete, I will send it to you for editing. When we’re happy with the final draft, we’ll arrange a date and time for a rehearsal. Four weeks before your ceremony, I will respectfully request your final payment and two weeks prior, I will ensure that all the relevant paperwork has been sent to you i.e. vows, readings etc.

What if we should want to cancel with you after we’ve signed the Contract and paid the deposit?
A full refund will be made to you should you cancel within 14 days of signing the Contract.
Where did you train to become a Celebrant?
I qualified as a Marriage and Family Celebrant with The Fellowship of Professional Celebrants.

How can we book with you?
Please email or leave a message and I'll respond to you as soon as I can. I think it’s important that the first meeting with potential clients should be face-to-face but if that’s not convenient, we can arrange a video call via WhatsApp or FaceTime etc. If after we’ve met you feel you would like to take things further, we will then take care of the necessary paperwork.
I look forward to hearing from you!
